Patanjali Yoga Sutra -प्रतिभाद्वा सर्वम् ॥3.34॥
prātibhādvā sarvam॥
Or some yogis might get the knowledge of everything through pure instinctive intuition (prātibhā).
Dictionary meaning of Prātibhā is ‘genius or vivid imagination’. Thus, ‘Prātibhāt’ means, ‘From ability or talent’ (Pañcami vibhakti — Ablataive case). Vyāsa Maharṣi says सर्वमेव जानाति योगी प्रातिभस्य ज्ञानस्योत्पत्ताविति॥. Due to the very high state of purification achieved, Prātibhā Jñāna dawns in a yogi just before the dawn of discriminative (Viveka) Jñāna, like engorge or spread of light just before the Sun actually rises. Herein, this aphorism says, due to the dawn of Prātibhā Jñāna, a yogi is in a position to know anything and everything even without saṁyama of any kind explained hitherto. Thus, driving away from the gloom of ignorance, yogi exhibits impulsive, spontaneous, discerning, supreme knowledge of everything.
