परमाणु परममहत्त्वान्तोऽस्य वशीकारः॥

(These six methods of contemplation help the sādhaka to get an astounding siddhi or power, wherein) Sādhaka is able to contemplate, penetrate and unravel the causal secrets of any object of any size, right from the size of the minutest atom to infinitely largest i.e., the universe (Brahman).

Vis-à-vis this explanation, Bhagavān does not specify anything about the powers (or Siddhis) a sādhaka gets due to his sādhana or contemplation on Paramātma. But there is an assurance from Bhagavān that sādhaka, contemplating on “Me as the Supreme Soul” would be liberated and becomes Brahman alone.

मां च योऽव्यभिचारेण भक्तियोगेन सेवते।

स गुणान्समतीत्यैतान् ब्रह्मभूयाय कल्पते॥गीता १४.२६॥

māṃ ca yo’vyabhicāreṇa bhaktiyogena sevate

sa guṇānsamatītyaitān brahmabhūyāya kalpateGītā 14.26

Whoever devotedly and unceasingly contemplates on Me, would rise above the Guṇas (triguṇātīta) and would be blessed to become Brahman.

It is true that in a democracy any normal citizen can become Prime Minister just by sheer efforts and rule the country. Narendra Modiji, one of the most successful Prime Ministers of India, was a tea vendor in his childhood days; but grew and rose to become Prime Minister of India only by sheer hard efforts and his relentless desire for all-round development of India.

दैवी ह्येषा गुणमयी मम माया दुरत्यया।

मामेव ये प्रपद्यन्ते मायामेतां तरन्ति ते॥गीता ७.१४

daivī hyeṣā guṇamayī mama māyā duratyayā

māmeva ye prapadyante māyāmetāṃ taranti teGītā 7.14

My triguṇamayī Māya is extremely mysterious and very hard to transcend. Whoever contemplates on Me and surrenders to Me absolutely would rise above the clutches of My triguṇamayī Māya (and would be liberated from the humdrum of birth and death).

Bhagavān does not believe in siddhis or powers and thus he never touches upon them in his Gītā. But the assurances from Bhagavān are very motivating to any sādhaka as the latter gets the highest, which is nothing less than Bhagavān.

In fact, the subject matter of our Upaniṣads is Brahman only and the goal of life is to achieve or to realize Him. Hindu scriptures mention many names of great yogis who have achieved Brahman, to name a few, janaka mahārāja, vasiṣṭha maharṣi, śuka maharṣi, yājñyavalkya, Sanaka Sanandanas, Vyāsa maharṣi, Hanumān, etc.
